Oklahoma City Thunder #35 Power forward is going to miss at least a week of game action, since Kevin Durant Back To Foot Surgery.

Kevin will be wearing an orthopedic shoe. In fact, Kevin Durant that he was excited for the new Orthopedic Shoe Becomin “[KD]8s to drop.”

The Thunder announced Sunday that Durant underwent a procedure on his right foot to reduce discomfort he had been having. As a result, the Thunder forward won’t be wearing anything from his shoe line right now.

IFWT Reports:

“There’s no new injury that’s been created,” GM Sam Presti said. “It’s just a matter of discomfort.”

Durant underwent a procedure in October to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot.  According to Presti, the fracture is healing as expected, but a screw inserted at the fifth metatarsal during the original procedure is rubbing against another bone, the cuboid bone, in another area, causing soreness and discomfort.

Presti said:

“Some pain in or around that cuboid bone is not unusual.”

“It’s actually somewhat expected during the recovery process. But in Kevin’s case, it wasn’t scaling down the level we had anticipated or the level the physicians had anticipated. So the next step would be to look at some other alternatives, which led us to this procedure.”

To help alleviate the pain, Durant had a new screw inserted.

I realize this is not a “major” procedure, but you can’t tell me this isn’t a worry for OKC moving forward. Players get surgery all the time and they usually do not need to have another procedure in the same place to try and fix something. I just hope for the best for KD and the Thunder in general because they aren’t winning anything without a healthy Durant.
