Kendrick Lamar talks how his love for tPoetic Justice played into his debut album ‘good kid, m.A.D4.D. city.
The song samples Janet Jackson‘s 90?s hit “Any Time, Any Place” paying homage the classic 1991 “Boyz In The Hood” movie, but with iPhones.
Kendrick told MTV News how he really wanted Janet to be in the video:
“This is a young boy that looked up to you for years. Please, yeah, video, Janet Jackson ‘Poetic Justice.’ It’ll only be right.”
Lamar says even though she didn’t do the cameo, which honestly would have been pretty epic, the Hip Hop newcomer still has something decent on his hands.
