Jussie Smollett Case Has Twist; Chicago Police Chief FIRED!

The Jussie Smollet case is getting more and more strange. Read on as Jussie Smollett case takes a turn as Chicago Police Chief FIRED…

CelebNMusic247.com reports that Jussie Smollet is currently suing the Chicago police department for slander, claiming they uncovered “damaging” documents against members of the Chicago police.

If you recall, Empire actor, Jussie Smollett claimed that he was attacked by a group of racist Donald Trump supporters, causing a nationwide manhunt.

Then, Chicago police, led by Superintendent Eddie Johnson, investigated the claims and concluded that Jussie Smollett was lying. They charged the actor – and called his story a “hoax.”

Now, 11 months later, Superintendent Eddie Johnson was unexpectedly fired just weeks before he was set to retire. That firing ended a rocky, three-year tenure as the head of a police department mired by controversies all because of the Jussie Smollet controversy.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced Eddie’s firing yesterday and suggested that it was Johnson’s personal failures that caused her to fire him.

Though Smollet was not mentioned by name, it was implied his case was the reason for the Chicago Police Chief to be FIRED!

Lightfoot said in a statement ahead of a news conference in which she rebuked Johnson for his conduct:

Upon a thorough review of the materials of the Inspector General’s ongoing investigation, it has become clear that Mr. Johnson engaged in a series of ethical lapses that are intolerable.

She added:

Eddie Johnson intentionally lied to me several times even when I challenged him about the narrative that he shared with me. He maintained that he was telling the truth. I now know definitively that he was not.

Is this the only way Mayor Lori Lightfoot is protecting the police by taking out the problem so Smollett can sue?
