Somebody is hitting the pipe because that is way way way over the top! During John Legends 36th birthday Ye made a toast apparently claiming that John Legend Is The New Stevie Wonder?

Umm, Really?

That is real flattering and John Legend is a good artist, but he’s no Stevie Wonder. Kanye must see something we don’t because there will NEVER be another Stevie Wonder.

Anyways, Kim Kardashian‘s hubby, Kanye made a extremely and over the top compliment to his friend John Legend at his 36th birthday bash at Catch on Thursday.

Here is what is being reported about Ye’s over the top compliment:

West said of Legend, who was also celebrating the 10th anniversary of his debut album, “Get Lifted.”

“A gentleman, a very well-mannered human being right here.”

West continued:

“I’m trying to get some pointers from him.”

“I don’t want to be the Phil Spector of hip-hop or anything.”

Legend said:

“People were skeptical about us, they didn’t know if we had what it takes to be successful.”

“Kanye would take me to these meetings and jump on the table and tell people I was the next Stevie Wonder.”

The guest list included their respective wives Kim Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen, plus Robert De Niro, Katie Couric, Estelle and Michael Strahan.
