Jermaine Dupri Sets the Record Straight on Female Rappers Comment

CelebNMusic247.com reports that Jermaine Dupri is speaking out since he’s been catching tons of backlash in and around the hip-hop community.

The So So Def hit producer wants to set the record straight on what was and wasn’t said so everyone can get the news straight from the horse’s mouth.

Jermaine Dupri said some of the hot femcees in the game right now sound like “strippers rapping” when asked specifically about Cardi B, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion and so on…

Well, that triggered Cardi B to FIRE BACK at Dupri recently. [more backstory here…]

The problem with Jermaine’s comment is that Cardi is the only one out of the above-mentioned MCs who used to dance — Nicki and Meg did not. This is also why Nicki and Megan didn’t reply to the comment.

It came off like it was a direct shot at Cardi.

Now, Jermaine clarifies that his remark was only aimed at the artists he was asked about.

He made a point to say that his statement was not meant to be a blanket label on all-female rappers. He also recoils against claims he’s sexist, saying nothing’s further from the truth.

Jermaine points out Cardi appears to have heard this complaint before, and that his remark is likely a widespread sentiment that’s only catching fire because he’s the first big name to publicly voice it.

Bottom line is this, Jermaine does have a solution of sorts for the ladies. If they got bars, he’s got beats. Wrong or right, it only struck a nerve because the females offended know their lyrics only focus on “p—y” rap.
