Jay-Z’s business empire continues to expand.
Sean Carter aka Jay-Z, The Brooklyn, New York born and raised rapper has gone from street hustler to being one of the most respected businessmen in America with a net worth of $475 million according to Forbes.
However, Jay is expanding his sport brand to become the next all power OZ of New York by launching a sports management company. Hov has now partnered with Creative Artists Agency to launch Roc Nation Sports, a full-service sports management company, reports USA Today. Jay will be adding Roc Nation Sports to his list of high paying investments which include; Brooklyn Nets, Roc-A-Wear, Roc Nation and Carol’s Daughter.
Jay-Z said in a statement:
“Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years.“
RNS has already landed it’s first big client. They convinced New York Yankees All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano to fire long time sports agent Scott Boras to sign with their company.
Cano explains:
“At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors both on and off the field.”
“I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports & CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- & long-term goals.”
The first order of business for Roc Nation Sports will be to ink Cano to a new contract, because his current one expires after this season.
