It’s that time of year when celebs start posting campaigns for your consideration ads for an Oscar nomination and now James Franco is Gunning For an Oscar Nom for his role in Spring Breakers as Alien!
The 2013 Academy Awards celebrate the best movies and performances of 2012, but is James Franco’s role as Alien worthy of the Oscar nom?
Well we are NOT sure if you’ve seen Spring Breakers, but if you have then you must be scratching your head like we are about this one. James Franco seems to think his Spring Breakers performance was Oscar worthy. We will say he was convincing as a dead beat, drug dealing wanna be rapper, Alien that he modeled after the reality TV star turned rapper Riff Raff.
The latter phrase is the amusing headline on a new “For your consideration” ad seeking Oscar votes for James Franco as Best Supporting Actor for his work in the ribald drama Spring Breakers.
A rep for Spring Breakers distributor A24 Films tells the Hollywood Reporter :
“James Franco has created a character so indelible it deserves recognition. We are excited to be able to support it with a campaign and know the impact of Alien will last far past this awards season.”
