Ivan Reitman Drops Out of Ghostbusters 3

Ghostbusters 3 recently lost one of the pivital actors, Harold Ramis aka Dr. Egon Spengler, of the Ghostbusters franchise and now the visionary Ivan Reitman, has dropped out of the long awaited sequel.

Just after Sony Pictures has announced plans to begin shooting the film in New York City in early 2015, CelebNMusic247.com has learned director Ivan Reitman has dropped out of the project in the wake of Ramis’s death last month.

The long-awaited sequel to the 80s blockbuster has been in the works for several years, with original stars Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis attached during pre-production, but now with Ramis gone the film no longer works.

See, the final script for the upcoming film is one that went through several iterations in order to please Aykroyd, Ramis and Bill Murray (who has apparently not agreed to do the film).

Reitman explains:

“It’s a version of Ghostbusters that has the originals in a very minor role… When I came back from Harold’s funeral, it was really moving and it made me think about a lot of things.”

“I just finally met with Amy and Doug Belgrad when I got back. I said I’d been thinking about it for weeks, that I’d rather just produce this Ghostbusters.”
