(CelebNMusic247-News) Irina Rodnina Contradicts Herself with Weak Apology

Go figure, Irina Rodnina, a three-time Olympic figure skating gold medalist from Russia who lit the cauldron at the opening ceremonies of the Sochi Games last week, made some racially charged remarks on her Twitter.

Here is the original Tweet from five months ago hinting that President Obama and the first Lady are monkey’s in a cage with a white person offering them a banana.

If this isn’t RACISM at an all time high:

Hey Irina tell us how you really feel?

Now the Russian figure skater is claiming her Twitter account was hack. Talk about a PR clean up and we’re sorry becuase we ain’t buying this load of bananas at ALL! Did someone stamp stupid on our forehead?

Like we haven’t heard the “I’ve been hacked” excuse before from almost every celebrity and athlete.

See, Irina Rodnina allegedly posted the tweet five-months ago, and now she’s claiming she was hack? The Tweet featured a banana superimposed over a picture of President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, became news again last week when Rodnina was tapped as one of two people to light the cauldron.  If that was the case then why not claim being hacked 5 months ago. Maybe we should title her PR style apology as “Liar Liar.”

Now here is the contradiction in her, ” I was hacked claim.”

When the tweet first made news, Rodnina bristled at the criticism, saying it was free speech. She also said that the photo was sent to her by friends in the United Statesaccording to the Guardian.

Here is what the Guardian reported in September of 2013 when the Tweet first surfaced:

The image features Obama chewing, while a hand in the foreground waves a banana at him.

Rodnina insisted that there was nothing wrong with the photograph, and said she had been sent it by friends in America. “Freedom of speech is freedom of speech, and you should answer for your own hang-ups,” she wrote.

The US ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaulwrote on Twitter that Rodnina was guilty of “outrageous behaviour, which only brings shame to her parliament and country”. A spokesperson for the US embassy quoted Thomas Jefferson in response to the tweet: “Bigotry is the disease of ignorance.”

Racism is rife in Russia, and black football players often face racial abuse involving bananas. In 2011, the Brazilian Roberto Carlos, playing for Russian team Anzhi Makhachkala, left the pitch in anger after a banana was thrown at him from the stands. In a separate incident, the club Zenit St Petersburg was fined the equivalent of about £6,300 when a fan offered Carlos a banana before a match. Read more at The Guardian

Here is the bogus apology from Irina Rodnina, who admitted 5 months ago that she did indeed post the racist Tweets.

She now denies the tweets with this PR motivated Tweet:
