Ice Cube & O’Shea Jackson Jr.Possibly Teaming Up Again???

We already put it out in the universe that CelebNMusic247.com would love to see a Ice Cube & O’Shea Jackson Jr.Possibly Teaming Up Again for the Big Screen.

Rumors are swirling that Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. may possibly be working on a new project about the LA Riots of 1992,

This would be interesting film since N.W.A. played a part in the out cry of the people of South Central after the Rodney King beating by LAPD on March 3, 1991.

According to the rumor that started by THR, Ice Cube is looking to re-team with his son O’Shea Jackson Jr. for a Lionsgate action thriller.

The report states that Donovan Marsh (Avenged) is on board to direct with Will Packer, who executive produced Straight Outta Compton and previously collaborated with Cube on the Ride Along movies, is set to produce.

The script comes from Sascha Penn (Power, Survivor’s Remorse), April 29, 1992 (the title refers to the L.A. riots (best known as the Rodney King Riots), and I would be stunned if it isn’t changed in production) follows an ex-criminal (Cube) who must save his son when a group of thugs raid his place of employment in the hopes of stealing a payload worth of platinum.

The studio hopes for a February start date, but the report cautions that these are early talks yet and the deal may fall through.

Jackson starred as the younger version of his father in the hit biopic Straight Outta Compton, while Cube served as producer on the film. Jackson’s performance garnered strong critical reviews and the film has grossed $80.1 million at the time of this posting (because Universal is utterly unstoppable this year).

Meanwhile RUMORS are saying the father-son-duo may be teaming up for the LA Riots thriller, “April 29 1992”:

We will see if the pans out to be true, but as it stands, Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. currently have no plans to commit to “April 29, 1992”.

It is also said that the deal fell through months ago when the two sides could not agree on the budget or script.

Maybe with the success of Straight Outta Compton the studio will change their mind, since movie goers would flood out to see this film, especially if Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. are attached.

A representative for Cube and Jackson Jr told Deadline:

““Ice Cube and O’Shea Jackson Jr. have no plans to commit to this project at this time. Any speculations or rumors that suggest that they are confirmed are simply untrue.”

We hope that the film happens, but we will see.

What do you think?
