(CelebNMusic247-News) CNM247 Exclusive Getting To Know Jae Ari

On The Rise artist Jae Ari is making waves in 2013 with his single “New Day” featuring Darryl Riley and Produced by Nineteen85.

Rick Ricky of CelebNMusic247 sat down with the hip hop new comer, Jae Ari of Toronto to talk about his upcoming album and more.

Here is a little about what we talked about with Toronto’s Jae Ari:

Ari, which means Lion and also gift, comes from a family with strong tradition and a lot of values. The Toronto native says he sticks to those values and upholds a standard for himself. Jae speaks on Toronto saying,

“The music scene in Toronto is crazy right now, the spot light is on us and there is a lot of emerging talent coming out.”

He adds:

“The music is more distinct, not only making a path we’re actually making a sound.”

When asked about Young Money artist Drake putting Toronto on the map:

Jae Ari responds:

“He has definitely on a commercial scale, the world can see it on that level.  But as for pioneers (who put Toronto on the map first) there’s been a lot of people from Maestro Fresh-Wes who was actually the first commercial success out of Toronto back in like ’89.”

He adds:

“There are a lot of names Ghetto Concept (Kwajo Cinqo and Dolo who are currently solo artists today), Choclair, and Kardinal Offishall (who I have interviewed in the past)…real ambassadors of Toronto who have been doing it.”

When asked about his main influences Jae replied:

“My main influences growing up were inspired by a lot of east coast music…and I feel like my sound I’ve been developing, I wouldn’t say I have a signature sound…I’ve listened to a lot of east coast hip hop like Big L, Kool G Rap.”

He continues:

“That’s the base of hip hop the mecca and I had the pleasure of going there, traveling and seeing the scene…I love New York!”

“That’s actually what I would say where and what my influences are. I love New York it’s a cool place…”

When asked

“I started off writing rhymes…what made me actually wanna take it seriously was being amongst my friends battling…”

Plus they told him that he was not to bad saying “Pick it up, Pick it up.”

He adds:

“I adapted and saw myself getting a name and really wanting to record and putting something out there for people to hear.” Jae continued saying, “It’s pretty much where it all started from free-styling and battling.”

Jae proved himself when he was on Rap City winning the freestyle battle that appeared on the Much Music channel.

When we asked him about how old he was when he started?

Jae Ari said he got his start around the age of 19/20 (professionally), as he puts it. When he reflected on his age Jae said he started around his peers at the age of 18. Jae basically submersed himself in it and just went for it.

What’s in the works for Jae Ari?

He just finished his debut album/mixtape, which is entitled Leave Even Better.

His debut will be available everywhere (JaeAriMusic.com, CelebNMusic247.com and datpiff.com) possibly on his birthday June 2, 2013 – or shortly thereafter.
