Halle Berry Not Returning to X-Men

Storm with NO LONGER be played by Halle since Berry Not Returning to X-Men Apocalypse as Storm, the producers have revealed that it 20 years earlier.

X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg broke the news over the weekend explaining Halle would not be appearing in X-Men: Apocalypse because the story takes place 20 years before X1 so the role would have to be recast with someone younger. Ouch.

Hugh Jackman however, did make the cut and will return as Wolverine.

Back in March, apparently fans are calling for Oscar winner[12 Years A Slave] Lupita Nyong’o to replace Halle Berry. Berry has played the comic book heroine Storm in the blockbuster film franchise for 4 films, but Jamie Broadnax says Berry needs to go.

Broadnax has launched an online petition to get the casting switch made.

“This is important because listening to the demands of your consumer base means more than your own personal casting choices. She has the accent, the look, and the acting chops to play Storm as the comic book intended,” Jamie writes. “Please kindly take this into consideration and respect the demand of Marvel consumers and fans of this amazing franchise. This petition was started based on the overwhelming responses to my tweet, ‘I volunteer as tribute to lead a social media charge to get Lupita cast as Storm!’”

We understand that Halle will be replaced by a younger storm character, but as for the rumor of Lupita – it seems that she would NOT be a fit either. She is currently filming Star Wars 7 and the role of storm would be played by someone in the early twenties, since the story takes place 20 years before X1.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters in 2016.
