Lebron James Ridiculed by Gatorade

What exactly happened to Leborn James of the Miami Heat during Thursday night’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs in sweltering Game 1 of the NBA Finals.

Lebron James left the game, which was played in 90-degree temperatures because of faulty air conditioning, with 7½ minutes left to get treatment from trainers.  King James came back three minutes later, scored a basket and then and stopped along the baseline, bent over and raised his hand to be replaced.

James complained that his who left side cramped up, according to yahoo.com

He said to a Pool reporter:

“It was the whole left leg, damn near the whole left side.”

Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas weighed in on Lebron, speaking on “Mike and Mike” show on ESPN Radio this morning:

“As an athlete, there’s really nothing you can do.”

“When you have debilitating leg cramps, you can’t move. …”

“I saw Miami having control of the game last night, they had control of the tempo. Defensively and offensively, everything was going their way. He was having a great game. So there’s no reason for him to take himself out. If they’re down 15 and maybe getting blown out, then you can maybe suggest that maybe something else is going on. But in that type of scenario, you can’t bring the conspiracy into it that he may have taken himself out of the game.”

He added:

“I felt like, LeBron James last night, there was absolutely nothing he, the coach, the trainers or anyone else in that situation could’ve done other than to try to let him rest and get him ready for Game 2.”

Also today, Gatorade apologized for comments about James posted to the company’s Twitter feed, which read:

“We were waiting on the sidelines, but he prefers to drink something else.”

“The person cramping wasn’t our client. Our athletes can take the heat.”

Mind you, the one of the tweets has been deleted – go figure?

Later CelebNMusic247.com has learned that the company released statement for their sideways comment:

“We got caught up in the heat of the battle…As a longtime partner of the Miami Heat, we support the entire team.”

See, James is endorses Powerade, a Gatorade rival.
