Full Details of Lifetime’s Aaliyah Biopic Revealed!!!

After rumors of Solange and Keshia Chanté, Disney’s Shake It Up star 17-Year-Old Zendaya Coleman cast in Lifetime’s Aaliyah biopic, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.

We previous reported that casting was underway for an Aaliyah biopic with rumors that Solange was tapped to play fallen angel Aaliyah in 2013 and then again in April that the film was green lit.

Well CelebNMusic247.com is happy to announce that Aaliyah Haughton’s family is on board and Lifetime has picked up the film to become a lifetime movie like the Whitney Houston biopic. At first it was rumored in early June that producers were eyeing Canadian singer Keshia Chanté is a likely choice, but as of today it has been officially announced that Zendaya Coleman will be playing Aaliyah.

In the words of RuPaul of RuPaul’s Drag Race, “Don’t F–k it up” Zendaya Coleman! She comes from the child and young teen manufacturing company, Disney’s Shake It Up, who spits out young stars every 5-minutes. Some people are a bit shook up the choice, but the family seems to apparently be ok with the producers choice.

The part of Aalyiah has been cast and some people are a bit shook up by the news that Disney’s Shake It Up star Zendaya Coleman has been cast in the role…

Zendaya will play Aaliayah in the new biopic produced by Lifetime based on Christopher Farley’s best-selling biography Aaliyah: More Than a Woman.

It has also been officially announced that Zendaya will record four Aaliayah songs for made for TV movie.

CelebNMusic247.com has also learned that the cameras are scheduled to roll on the biopic, Aaliyah: More Than a Woman which was originally titled Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, from July 2 to 31.

The independent project will be based out of Dufferin Gate Productions and directed by Bradley Walsh (The Listener, Beauty and the Beast), who helmed the 2010 TV movie Turn the Beat Around.

We know Lifetime will do the film justice, because the Liz Taylor biopic was dreadful and Aaliyah deserves to have her story told.

As for the details: Aaliyah was 22 when she and eight other people were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas after filming a music video. The singer released three albums; collaborated with artists like Timbaland, Missy Elliott and R. Kelly; and starred in the 2000 film Romeo Must Die and Queen of the Dammed.

What we are wondering is if they will reveal that Aaliyah left early on the cessna because of Damon Dash who was attending a Def Jam party in Miami and she was rushing to Florida to see him. At the time Aaliyah was wrapping up filming of Queen of the Dammed and was due back to her upcoming film at that time The Matrix 2 but she never made it back and the part was recast.  why do we know, because a close source gave us all the information just an hour after the crash. There are so many details about the crash that we don’t want to speak of because it breaks our heart.

We also can tell you that the cessna was overloaded with makeup kits, luggage and equipment and Aaliyah was sitting on someone’s lap on the plane because there was one too many people on the plane.  Aaliyah’s glam squad were all killed in the crash except for one who works with T-Boz these days – we are very happy he is still here as his vision in hair is legendary. His skill unprecedented.

We can also leak this tid bit of information, Aaliyah was on a tight schedule filming and her uncle/manager demanded she go film the “Rock The Boat” video and she was forced to push back her “More Than A Woman” video to a third release since he felt the song was stronger and needed a filler track. The trip to the Bahamas was last minute and she had to make time during her grueling film schedule with the Matrix sequel and post production on Dammed which her brother filled in for her after untimely death, like Paul Walker’s brother’s who are being body doubles on the set of Fast and Furious 7.

We will see if that will be revealed in the film because it is a HUGE factor on why Aaliyah is gone.

The show must go on….
