Fred also suffered from asthma and had issues with his kidneys. It was reported yesterday (April 22) that his kidneys had been failing. His wife, LeeAnn Jemmott asked fans for prayers for her husband’s full recovery earlier in the week but has not spoken out on the passing as of right now.

Throughout Fred’s career, he gained a lot of street credibility and was known for his wordplay and dope bars. He made his breakthrough in 2010 with his Armageddon mixtape. He was on the 2011 XXL Freshman standing next to Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, YG, and more. Despite his incredible skills, he refused to sign to a label. He frequently dropped freestlyes and appeared on Funk Flex a few times.

RIP Fred The Godson
