First Avenue Minneapolis Ceiling Collapse During Theory of a Deadman Concert!!!

CelebNMusic247.com has got breaking news that the legendary First Avenue music club was evacuated Wednesday night after First Avenue Minneapolis Ceiling Collapse During Theory of a Deadman Concert!

What we do know is that the incident happened during a Theory of a Deadman concert at the First Avenue music club.

Here is the report via Kare11.com:

The legendary First Avenue music club was evacuated Wednesday night after part of the ceiling collapsed, leaving at least three people injured.

Canadian rock band Theory of a Deadman were playing a set at local landmark First Avenue — featured heavily in Prince’s “Purple Rain” — when a portion of the ceiling fell at around 10:15 p.m. local time (11:15 p.m. ET). Witnesses say they saw smoke, and sprinklers in the back go off before part of roof came down in the rear of the venue.

First Avenue General Manager Nathan Kranz says about 750 people were inside when two sections of the ceiling fell in. He says that also pulled down the building’s sprinkler pipe. Kranz says the building will be closed Thursday so inspectors can check the structural integrity of the building. He says it’s not immediately clear how soon First Avenue might be able to reopen.

Minneapolis Fire say the building was evacuated, inspected and turned over to management. The scene was cleared just before 11 p.m.

At this point all shows in First Avenue’s Main Room, 7th Street Entry and the Record Room have been cancelled for Thursday and Friday. A sold-out show by R and B singer Miguel was set for the Main Room on Saturday night. It has yet to be determined whether that show will go on as planned, be moved to another venue, or be cancelled.
