The family of hip hop exec Chris Lighty have asked for a second autopsy to be performed after casting doubt over his suicide.
The 44-year-old Lighty, who helped and managed the careers of many luminaries in the industry such as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Mariah Carey and 50 Cent, was found dead outside of his Bronx home with a single gunshot wound to the head last week. It has been reported that Lighty took his own life after allegedly arguing with his wife.
The medical examiner has rules his death a suicide but Lighty’s brother, Dave, has expressed doubt. Famed forensic pathologist Michael Baden has been brought in to perform another autopsy. Baden, who has testified on numerous high-profile cases such as the O.J. Simpson trial, says he is awaiting the results.
Lighty was laid to rest yesterday with a star-studded funeral that included Diddy, Missy, Elliot, Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Ed Lover, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Michael Bivins, Rev Run, Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean and Mona Scott-Young.
