This week, DMX got in trouble with the law again. The Ruff Ryder tested positive for cocaine and pot several times while on out on bail in his tax evasion case.
DMX, whose legal name is Earl Simmons, showed up to court late wearing a blue tie-dyed Def Leopard T-shirt, to face off with Judge Jed Rakoff. Read on about DMX House Arrest…
CelebNMusic247.com has learned that the 46-year-old Simmons who showed up late for his own bail hearing at Manhattan Federal Court has landed house arrest.
According to angry Judge Jed Rakoff, DMX has violated bail “probably more times than I can even remember” in such a short period of time.
Some people NEVER learn. We guess DMX is one of those people. Especially since the gravelly voiced rapper tested positive for cocaine four times in less than four weeks.
DMX House Arrest Details:
NOT only that, Dark Man X was also found with marijuana and opiates in his system as well, said judge Jed Rakoff.
Rakoff also said:
“He does have a rap sheet that does suggest more than a passing acquaintance with illegal drugs and more than a passing acquaintance with hand guns.”
Luckily, the judge still showed mercy on Simmons.
The NY Daily News reports:
The judge ordering him to home detention with an electronic ankle bracelet rather than sending him to jail.
Since he believes that there are too many people are locked up before trial, Rakoff decided:
“I’m going to not detain him in jail, although a very strong argument could be made for detaining him in jail.”
The other issue outside of the drug problem is that DMX left the state of New York Without court permission.
E! News learned in late July, when authorities contacted DMX, he said he was in Chicago. Days later, he left a voicemail indicating he planed to travel to St. Louis to deal with a family emergency. The spokesperson said he returned to New York in early August.
Instead of prison time to wait for his trial DMX will be placed on house arrest and equipped with an ankle monitor
