To recap, in 2007, rapper Stack Bundles was GUNNED DOWN in cold blood at the 5am hours while he was heading into his apartment building.  Like Chinx, Stacks, 24, was a rapper on the rise and a native of Far Rockaway Queens New York.

Coincidence or Connection?

Here is what was reported by the NY Times back in 2007 in regards to Stack Bundles murder that has been under investigation for 8 years:

It seems that someone doesn’t want another Queens rapper to make it to big leagues of hip hop success.

In a familiar setting, Rayquan Elliot, who performed under the name Stack Bundles, had spent the night out with friends at Stereo, a Manhattan nightclub, and stopped off at a White Castle on the way home to his building, at 14-60 Beach Channel Drive, according to relatives and acquaintances. As he entered his building, the police said, he was approached by an unknown number of assailants who shot him in the head and neck. The assailants fled, the police said.

Another thing the two rappers had in common was their love for Porsche’s – Stacks drove a 2006 Porsche Boxster convertible that he drove only heightened his profile among his peers in the housing project. It was revealed by Stacks neighbor that he felt threatened by residents at his public housing complex who were jealous of his show business success. Mr. Elliot was declared dead about 20 minutes later at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Here is the connection, Rayquon “Stack Bundles” Elliott, second from left, was shot to death in 2007 in front of the Redfern Houses, where Lionel “Chinx” Pickens grew up.

Coincidence or Connection?

The police said late yesterday that there had been no arrests, and the case remained under investigation. Now, eight years later, NYPD have found a common link, so they are looking into any connections that can link the deaths of both fallen Far Rockaway rappers.

Stack Bundles brother tells The NY Daily News, that he believes that the unsolved 2007 murder of his brother Stack Bundles is linked to Sunday’s slaying of fellow rapper Lionel “Chinx” Pickens.

Bundles, whose real name was Rayquon Elliott, was gunned down outside his Redfern Houses residence in Far Rockaway in June 2007.   Pickens, 31, a Bundles protegé, was serving four years for robbery and drugs when Bundles was shot in the head at age 24.

Elliott’s older brother Ronald Ulmer, 48, told the Daily News:

“I really think they could be related.”

“They were tight. They were a crew. And I just think if a person commits a crime as harsh as killing, and they think they got away with it, they will surface and do it again.”

CelebNMusic247.com has this report via VIBE:

“They were friends, Stack Bundles and Chinx. They were friends, so we’re looking at all hip-hop angles,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said.

Stack Bundles was killed in Far Rockaway in 2007, after being shot near his residence. The suspect in the murder was killed days later. Police confirmed that no incident took place at Chinx’s performance hours before his shooting, and are now considering other motives for his killing.

“Right now, we don’t have anybody not cooperating,” Boyce said. “There is no fight in the club. We got [that] from numerous sources.”

Chinx was serving a four-year sentence in prison at the time of Bundles’ murder. Bundles’ brother, Ronald Ulmer, told the Daily News that he believes that his brother’s murder could be connected to Chinx’s.

“They were tight. They were a crew,” he said. “And I just think if a person commits a crime as harsh as killing, and they think they got away with it, they will surface and do it again.”
