Read more on Beyonce and how she just Roc’d herself into a lawsuit over a logo…
Bey features the infamous Roc-A-Fella logo as she hugs her husband Jay Z, who is wearing a chain with the logo around his neck. Then, Beyonce dangles the diamond encrusted Roc-A-Fella logo between her fingers on his shoulder. This logo was designed by New York City designer, Dwayne Walker.
Dwayne Walker owns the rights to the original Roc-A-Fella logo. He’s the guy who recently lost a $7 million dollar unpaid royalties lawsuit against Jay Z this past September. If you recall, in 2012, Walker filed a lawsuit against Jay-Z and his former label partners at Roc-A-Fella.
It appears Beyonce has become his next target for using his logo in her “Drunk in Love” video without permission. Is that Beyonce’s fault? She has nothing to do with Roc-A-Fella.
Is this just another way to get at Jay Z? The power couple seems to flaunting the logo as many times as possible in the video, so it raises the question. Was Jay Z mocking Walker since the video was made in 2013, a year after Walker hit him with the lawsuit?
It all seems a bit messy, but for your entertainment, watch Beyonce singing about “riding her surf board” in her “Drunk in Love” video. See how many times you can spot out the Roc-A-Fella logo:
