Benzino‘s Nephew Claims Self Defense

On Saturday Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star Benzino was shot on Route 3 in Duxbury during his own mother’s funeral procession and now his nephew is claiming NOT Guilty?

Now in a twist, CelebNMusic247.com has learned that Benzino’s nephew Gai is cliaming self defense against the reality TV star.

According to reports, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta’s Benzino, 48, a Boston native who now lives in Atlanta, said he was on his way to Plymouth to pick up a friend when he came upon the procession and someone opened fire.

Benzo, born Raymond Scott, was fire upon multiple times by an assailant who turned out to be his nephew Gai Scott, 36, of Randolph, who pleaded NOT guilty in Plymouth District Court to armed assault with intent to murder.

The incident took place over the weekend during a funeral procession on a Boston-area highway. However, Gai’s attorney is claiming that his client acted in self-defense against Benzino.  CelebNMusic247.com has also learned that Scott was ordered held without bail pending a hearing Wednesday to determine whether he’s a danger to society.

Benzino was show by Scott, but Gai’s lawyer, Jon Ciraulo, said:

“When the dust settles with respect to this case, it’s going to be abundantly clear that Mr. Scott, a licensed gun owner, was acting in self-defense and in defense of his family.”

As for the Love and Hip Hop Atlanta star, he was released a day early from South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Bezino paid his respects to his mother in private at a Quincy funeral home but decided to skip the procession and funeral because of tensions in the family over money.

Although, the shooter was identified, when asked by police the CEO of Hip-Hop Weekly magazine did NOT identify the person who shot him by name.
