(CelebNMusic247-News) Amanda Bynes and a hip-hop career?

Amanda Bynes has been in the news a lot over the last year for the wrong reasons. The former child star has made some crazy decisions which have given her a bad reputation in the press.

It would seem that her career could be taking a turn towards hip hop though. Apparently producer Daniel Herman of Chinga Chang Records has offered to sign her.

Ms Bynes has been saying for some time now that she wanted a rap career, so it makes sense that someone would have been paying attention. And maybe this is the kind of thing that will keep her out of trouble? Instead of locking her up out of sight with only partycasino.com or her Twitter page for company, she can let it all out in song. That said, playing Blackjack, Roulette and Poker is a much better way to spend your time than all of the activities she’s been doing lately. They require thought, skill and a visit from Lady Luck.

According to the Huffington Post, Herman told the website that he is serious about getting her on board to record her first hip-hop album, and that it is not a PR stunt. We’re not sure we believe that ourselves, but here him out.

“She’s phenomenal and that’s the crazy thing about this,” he said. “This is the perfect home. This isn’t just a gimmick.”

“The fact that Amanda wants to perform hip hop music means that Chinga Chang label is the best place for her to do this, because of my past experience with bringing pop and legitimate hip hop together.”

Herman has yet to secure a contract with the 27-year-old former Nickelodeon star, but he’s apparently ‘beyond confident’ she will sign. If all goes according to plan he’ll have a deal by the end of the week.

“I see someone like Amanda Bynes and I know she has talent. I grew up with Nick and the orange couch. I know she has talent. I’ve heard her sing when she was younger. I wanna get her in the cutting room in NYC and see what she has. Why the hell not?”

Good luck with all that, I guess.
