Oh Lawrdy Kiss icon Gene Simmons FIRES BACK at Ice Cube’s Rock & Roll HOF Jab over the weekend, but he is making for a good argument!!!
Find out why Gene Simmons FIRES BACK at the Ice Cube’s acceptance speech on the flip…
We all know that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is trying to pump in new blood that is relevant with music lovers of today, but is the Rock & Roll HOF missing the point and why Gene Simmons FIRES BACK at Ice Cube?
Gene Simmons latest tweet on Twitter has grabbed many people who love rock music’s attention. It’s too late to bitch, but Simmons has a valid point. But so did Ice Cube with her acceptance speech that took a jab at the KISS member.
The “Love Gun” singer is NOT sitting down on this one, Gene Simmons FIRES BACK!
To recap, Gene made a point to say “Hip Hop is dying” and that he looked forward to bury it. But it’s his remarks in a recent interview that comes off a little bitter, since rock was the dominate for on the airwaves until bands like N.W.A. killed rock and West Coast Gangster rap dominated the radio.
It’s almost like Simmons beef with N.W.A. steams a lot deeper than just the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
During N.W.A.’s introduction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the group addressed KISS co-frontman and bass guitarist, Gene Simmons, who has predicted that rap will be dead in 10 years. MC Ren first spoke and then it was Ice Cube’s speech the resonated in Simmons mind. It compelled him to lash out and FIRE ONE SHOT BACK that is a knife in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s back.
First MC Ren said:
“I want to say to Mr. Gene Simmons that Hip Hop is here forever…We’re supposed to be here.”
Then, Ice Cube also defended N.W.A.’s rock bona fides that set Gene Simmons off again:
“The question is, ‘Are we rock ‘n’ roll?’ And I say — you goddamn right we rock ‘n’ roll. Rock ‘n’ roll is not an instrument. It’s not even a style of music. It’s a spirit that’s been going on since the blues, jazz, bebop, soul, rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, heavy metal, punk rock, and yes, hip-hop.”

Why Gene Simmons FIRES BACK?
Simmons didn’t take kind to Ice Cube’s response, saying:
“Respectfully– let me know when @JimiHendrix gets into the hip hop hall of fame. Then you’ll have a point.”
Gene, born Chaim Witz, takes in to consideration of what Cube said, but then he points out another iconic group that should have come before N.W.A.:
“Cube – I stand by my words. Respect NWA, but when Led Zep gets into Rap Hall of Fame, I will agree with your point.”
Many bands that have been snubbed by RRHOF, but Jimi Hendrix is an atrocity!
There has been talk of a Hip Hop Hall of Fame over the years. But as of now one doesn’t exist, but now is the time. Why won’t Russell Simmons or LA Reid start one?
What do you think, does Simmons’ latest comment have any merit?
