The former Home and Away star says she had a myomectomy to remove a fibroid the size of a golf ball, in her own Instagram post reported Oct. 26.

Sarah Roberts has told fans, in her own words, that she has had Sarah Roberts fibroid surgery — a myomectomy to remove a fibroid she nicknamed “Felicia.” The former Home and Away star, who played Willow Harris from 2017 to 2021, shared the update in an Instagram post on October 23 to her 187,000 followers, per Now To Love, which credited her photos to Instagram/_sarahroberts_.
This article reports only what Roberts herself posted and what that coverage stated. It does not add detail about her condition beyond her own account, and it is not medical advice.

What Roberts Said Happened
“This time last week, I would’ve been in the theatre, or just coming out. Not the type of theatre I usually go to!” Roberts wrote, per Now To Love. “I had a myomectomy to remove a fibroid I’ve now nicknamed ‘Felicia’, so I can aptly say, ‘Bye Felicia!’ and wince in pain as I laugh at my own joke!”
She said the fibroid had “grown to the size of a golf ball, sending me to emergency whenever my period came and making it impossible to do anything without looking like I’d stepped off the set of Kill Bill,” per her post as reported by Now To Love. She added that it was time for Felicia to “leave the building.”
Now To Love described fibroids, in general terms, as non-cancerous growths made of smooth muscle cells and fibrous connective tissue that develop in or on the wall of the uterus, and noted that while most fibroids do not need treatment, some are removed because they can cause heavy periods and pain. That general description is Now To Love’s, reported here as context only — not a description of anyone else’s case.
Recovery, in Her Own Framing
Roberts, who now co-hosts the Cracking On podcast with fellow Home and Away alum Sam Frost, wrote that recovery had forced a change of pace, per Now To Love. “Firstly, I’m usually on a work couch talking to people about how they ‘crack on with life’. But I realised sometimes you can’t crack on with life. You just have to sit on your own ass crack and DO NOTHING (doctor’s orders!)” she wrote.
She also thanked the people around her. Per Now To Love, she said her boyfriend, Vancouver-based cinematographer Jake Iesu, flew back from Vancouver “just to help me walk,” and she said she had been “blown away” by the kindness of strangers, nurses, surgeons and everyone who showed up for her. Her hospital goals, she wrote, had become simple: “shower, mobilise and caffeinate.”
Roberts closed the post, per Now To Love, by wondering whether the experience was a reminder that “constant productivity doesn’t equal worth,” adding: “Hopefully, I won’t get another visit from Felicia for not listening to my body.” That closing line — about listening to her body — is her own reflection on her own experience, and this desk reports it as exactly that.
The 247 Take — Roberts told this story herself, with humor and with the hard parts left in: emergency trips, pain, and being told to do nothing. The Wellness Desk’s take is simply to take her at her word — no more, and no less, than what she chose to share.
