The beach photo everyone sent him this summer was not him at all — and Jimmy Fallon had a very real throwback waiting to prove a different point.

Andy Cohen finally got to say it to the photo’s face. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, Oct. 19, Jimmy Fallon put up the beach shot that had been circulating all summer — Cohen, shirtless, in a tiny black Speedo — and the Bravo host shut it down before the applause even settled. “Okay y’all, that’s AI. That’s not me,” Cohen said, per People.
“I look like a Ken doll”
Cohen’s evidence was anatomical. “Do you think that I’m going to wear a micro bikini, and with no genitalia whatsoever?” he asked, to a hysterical audience, per People’s account of the appearance. “I look like a Ken doll!” The strangest part, by his telling, was not the fake itself — it was the fan mail. People kept sending him the image with compliments on the physique. “People are sending me this. They’re like, ‘Hey, looking good!’ I go, ‘Who do you think I am’?” he said, laughing.
Strip the comedy away and this is the new celebrity chore: a fabricated image travels all summer as if it were a paparazzi shot, and the correction has to happen on national television, in jokes, because a denial nobody laughs at never catches up to the picture.

The mowing-the-lawn ambush
Cohen then overplayed his hand. He assured Fallon that he wears ordinary swim trunks — “I don’t wear Speedos… I do not!” — and Fallon was ready. The host produced a genuine throwback photograph of a younger Cohen in a multi-colored, striped Speedo, mowing the lawn, and told the crowd, “This is real.”
Cohen did not dispute it for a second. “Well hold on. That’s my mowing-the-lawn Speedo,” he said — the line that instantly became the clip’s most-quoted moment when The Tonight Show posted it to Instagram, where it has pulled more than 90,000 likes. The denial, it turns out, was only ever about the fake. The Speedo era was real; it just involved yard work.
A book to sell, a fake to bury
The appearance was not only about swimwear. Cohen was on the show the same day his new book, Andy’s Bravo Scrapbook: Twenty Years Behind the Scenes of the Real Housewives and the Bravoverse, was released, and the segment paired the book talk with a rapid-fire round of Bravo questions, per BroadwayWorld. It was efficient television: plug the scrapbook, bury the deepfake, and leave with the funnier photograph being the true one.
The 247 Take — Andy Cohen just gave the masterclass in killing a fake: laugh first, debunk second, and have a better story than the image. The AI gave him a beach bod; Fallon gave him a lawn mower. Only one of those pictures is real, and it is the one everybody will remember.
