The RHOA friendship that started warm and ended in a contentious reunion is still cold, and K. Michelle is not dressing it up.
K. Michelle has given the clearest update yet on where she stands with Shamea Morton, and there is no reunion hug hiding in it. Per Reality Blurb, Michelle shared on Yung Joe & The Streetz Morning Takeover that the two have spoken since the The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion — and then drew her line plainly.
“That’s not my type of person,” Michelle said, via @nochaser_tv on Instagram, per Reality Blurb.
Going Hard, Then Getting Teased for It
The detail that stings most is not the distance. It is the receipt Michelle says came with it. Per Reality Blurb, she claimed her costars made fun of her for defending Shamea so fiercely in the first place.
“The girls even made fun of me because they were like, I was so hard. I was going so hard for her,” she said, per Reality Blurb.
That lands because, per Reality Blurb, Michelle and Shamea started last season as friends before their bond broke down as the season went on, with some fans believing the cast turned Michelle against her — a dynamic that helped fuel how much they argued at the reunion. Going from ride-or-die to “not my type of person” is a full story arc in one quote, and Michelle seems to know exactly how it reads.

“If I Love You, I Love You”
Michelle also addressed how she comes across when she is upset. Per Reality Blurb, she said she cries on the show either because someone “pissed me off” or because “I’m emotional.”
“And I love so hard,” she said, addressing the claim that she is mean, per Reality Blurb. “If I love you, I love you.”
It is a useful frame for the whole fallout. In Michelle’s telling, the intensity was never the problem — it was the direction it was pointed. When the loyalty was flowing toward Shamea, it was total. Once it stopped, it stopped completely.
Shamea’s Side, From July
Shamea has spoken about her own experience of the season, too. Per Reality Blurb, back in July on The Neighborhood Talk, Shamea responded to the claim that colorism could be why her co-stars treated her badly.
“If you treat people with kindness, it should be reciprocated,” Shamea stated at the time, per Reality Blurb. “And oftentimes, we don’t see that. I mean, heck. I’ve been taking it on the chin from fans since I joined the cast. So it’s just nice to finally see that people are seeing things from my POV.”
She added, per Reality Blurb: “‘Cause you know, there’s always your truth, their truth, and then the real truth,” and said she hoped the group could eventually reach “a space where we’re all one cohesive group and there’s no division. That’s my goal.”
Per Reality Blurb, at last season’s reunion almost no one was on Shamea’s side, and some fans are wondering whether the new season will follow the same trajectory. Michelle’s latest comments do not suggest a thaw is coming quickly — spoken since the reunion, yes, but reconciled is a different word entirely, and she did not use it.
The 247 Take — There is something almost refreshing about a Housewife refusing the fake reset. Michelle is not promising growth, coffee dates or a cast-trip truce; she is saying the friendship ran its course and the teasing from the other women is part of why it hurts. Atlanta works best when nobody pretends, and on that front, at least, she is keeping it completely real.
