Read on to get the tea spilling on 50 Cent threatening to leave Power…
50 Cent went off on his hit Starz series Power:
“I woke up feeling a little different about POWER this morning . If the biggest show on your network doesn’t mean anything, what does your network mean STARZ? I’m taking my talents to south beach fuck this.”
50 Cent was PISSED when two of the series main characters (“Julio” J.R. Ramirez and “Jukebox” Anika Noni Rose) were killed off. There storylines were initially intended on being a two-part continuation to include more details.
Power showrunner Courtney Kemp, who seems to share a similar frustration to 50, Starz was not on board with the decision to extend the episode order, forcing them to pack everything into one.
She told Entertainment Weekly:
“Unfortunately, Starz would not give us the extra episode. I asked them for 12 episodes for season four and they would not do it. So because they would not do it, we had to make it one episode.”
Starz is yet to respond to 50 Cent and Kemp’s remarks.
We agree with 50 Cent. This season of Power has so many flaws it’s ridiculous. What is up with the writing of the show. It’s losing its kick. Julio became stupid and instead of telling Tommy, he went to Dre, the guy he knew not to trust? Who does that. Then, Jukebox got her money, but then kidnapped the sun for more?
We have more complaints – Tasha is having issues with Tarek, so she goes out on a date with the lawyer to get some D? Whatever. Then, Kannon gets the money and he’s cool with Ghost? Tarek is upset his parents are drug dealers and killers? What the hell does he think he’s doing, hanging with Kannon? Rich kid problems. The show lack communication and not to mention the whole jail thing and lawsuit could have been shut down in 2 episodes. Too much evidence to prove he didn’t do it. Angela is just a scorned ex-girlfriend. She wanted payback after being a homewrecker. She has some nerve, but most side pieces do, they all feel entitled. Get your A game Power, you’re lacking this season.
Meanwhile, 50Central will be premiering on BET in September. Mr. Jackson will play the role of host for his new BET show 50 Central as a cast of comedians bring their grade A jokes to BET’s late night lineup. He and Gabrielle Union were spotted having words with one another.
