15. The Verve – “Bitter Sweet Symphony”

In 1997 The Verve released a cover of the Rolling Stones 1965 “Bitter Sweet Symphony” version by Andrew Loog Oldham. It was a huge hit for the new Britpop band, the only problem is the never cleared it and were sued. All monies went to The Rolling Stones and Andrew Loog Oldham. The Verve was never heard from again.

14. Vince Neil – “He’s A Whore”

In 2010, Vince Neil remade Cheap Trick’s 1977 hit song “He’s A Whore” for his Tattoos & Tequila album. “He’s A Whore” comes from Cheap Trick’s debut and self titled album Cheap Trick.

13. NONPOINT – “In The Air Tonight”

In 2006, NONPOINT did a remake of Phil Collins 1981 hit “In The Air Tonight” for the Miami Vice movie starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. The movie did ok, but the song was a superb remake. As for, NONPOINT, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida native band is still making music.

XFactor1 made a remake in 2012 of Billy Squier’s 1981 hit “The Stroke.” The took the pop rock song and added more of an metal edge to the track which is that perfect rebirth to the early rock hit. The video was directed & edited by Marc Asher of ZT5. In 2014, Enuff Z’Nuff jumped on the bandwagon and did a remake of Squier’s song, but XFactor1’s was way better.

311 did a remake of The Cure’s hit “Love Song” from the 1998 Disintegration album. 311 remade the song for the movie 50 First Dates starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler.

Ki Theory did a remake of Depeche Mode’s 1990 mega-hit “Enjoy The Silence” from the Violator album. It was the same year that fans started a riot outside warehouse records next to the Beverly Plaza Shopping Mall in Los Angeles. Fans lined up for three days, we were one of them. On the day of the meet and greet Depeche Mode over 40,000 fans showed up and our group who was 50th in line lost out on meeting out all time favorite group. We got out of the Mele but was never able to get any of our albums signed. Ki Theory remade the song for Ghost In The Shell.

With the release of the Immortalized album Disturbed did a remake of Simon & Garfunkel’s 1964 hit song “The Sound Of Silence.” Disturbed version is truly better than the original. It is darker, heavier and is a sure rock hit rebirth.

In Godsmack made a sickening remake of The Beatles 1969 hit “Come Together” which seriously better than the original. Godsmack released a Live & Inspired album in 2012 which was recorded at the Detroit Fox Theater, the same place where Soundgarden performed for the last time following Chris Cornels death.

Panic! At The Disco did a remake of Queen’s classic “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the Suicide Squad soundtrack. This is an amazing remake.
